Our mission is to support teachers working with deaf students by providing tools and training to boost literacy. Our Reading Progress and Reading Coach training introduces methods that enhance reading fluency and make learning engaging. Students can practice anytime, anywhere, creating a safe space to improve at their own pace.
We recently conducted a Reading Coach Training at the Philippine Institute for the Deaf, aimed at empowering teachers and enhancing student literacy by providing them with effective tools. The training, led by our facilitator and trainer, Virra Cortes, was held online via Microsoft Teams.
The entire faculty of the Philippine Institute for the Deaf attended the training, eager to expand their knowledge. The teachers were highly engaged and impressed by the potential of this new tool. Even before the training concluded, they could already see how it could positively impact their classes and benefit their students.
The Philippine Institute for the Deaf is an oral school for the deaf, making this tool particularly valuable for their curriculum. It promises to make speech therapy more interactive and enjoyable for students, while also efficiently addressing their specific needs.
It was inspiring to see teachers at the Philippine Institute for the Deaf quickly adapt to these tools. They’re making learning more interactive and personalized, with the ability to give feedback anytime, anywhere. Their enthusiasm assures us these methods will greatly benefit deaf students. We’re excited to continue offering these training sessions to more schools!
